I had a signoidoscopy this week which still showed active inflammation in rectum. Also noted was a hemorrhoid which bled upon contact with scope. To be fair, I felt this hemorrhoid come in to play last week after a few intense days of toileting. Also the GI was running 4 hours late on the day of scope, so having done enema 5 1/2 hours before hand, it had lost effectiveness and I needed the toilet violently again several times in the last hour or so which I can image set it off.
My question is really - my bleeding has been almost constant over last couple of months - normally dark red blood covering stools and clotting on tissue and very smelly! Also since I noted start of pile, I have also had bright red bleeding in addition to the dark red blood. The GI has put all my blood down to this hemorrhoid regardless if it bright or very dark and clotty even though my UC was still active. He was quite dismissive as he was running so far behind but now I am unsure as to when I am flaring or not? Further to the bleeding, I am still going up to 8 times a day and have left sided abdominal pain.
All advice welcome
