But the Remicade did not work and neither is the Simponi, so you could lose your colon anyway. With this disease you have to learn how to treat yourself instead of just leaving the decisions up to the doctor. This is a disease with no known cause and no known cure so the docs are only good up to a point. You don't need to wait until a doc tells you to take probiotics. Almost all UC patients take probiotics and it helps them and very few were told to take them by a doctor. You have to figure that out for yourself, like many other things. I'm willing to bet you are eating a lot of foods that are making your condition worse, that's why it never gets any better. Fruits, veggies, high fiber foods can make some worse. Everyone is different in regards to foods. Don't take a doctor's word on diet advice. They usually don't say anything and when they do it is usually wrong.
