Does anyone have information on this.  My GI feels that I have formed antibodies first to Rem. and now simponi. He is suggesting Benadryl before entyvio IV.  Have not started entyvio yet but getting approval.

I doubt Benadryl has anything at all to do with antibodies. Didn't you take it before Remi and Simponi? If your doctor thinks Benadryl is going to stop antibodies from forming then you would get better doctoring from a high school biology graduate or maybe even a high school dropout.
Pentasa (500mg) 2 pills X 2; VSL 1 pill X 2; Prescrip Assist Probiotic 1 pill X 2; Lactobacillus Rhamnosus 1 pill X 2; Grape seed extract 400mg X 2; 1 Vitamin D3 5000 IU; DAO as needed due to dietary histamine intolerance

Gave me trouble: Robinul; Zymactive, Renew Life Probiotic 80 billion, Florastor

That is a weird suggestion re: benedryl. Seems like a lot of people build antibodies to biologics. They say it's less likely to have antibodies to simponi and humira vs. remicade but I guess it happens. Either that or people just stop responding to treatments after a while. Did you get a blood test to see if you have actually built up antibodies?

Benadryl is not going to stop you from forming antibodies....you either misunderstood your doctor or you need to find a new one.

That being said, my doctor is recommending using 6mp with entyvio since there is still a small chance of developing antibodies to it (much smaller than remicade though). Entyvio is the last drug for me before surgery, if it works and I happen to be in the small percentage if people that develope antibodies I will be really pissed, so I rather be safe than sorry.

it my last drug too, UCHater. will ask about 6mp. Had testing with rem. with antibodies after 15 months. Then on to simponi... 8 months and now not working...... I am with you guys... hate this UC

Just to explain why you probably wont get antibodies: Remicade is what we call a chimeric antibody (contains a significant amount of mouse protein relative to human protein) so the chances of developing antiibodies (Abs) to it are high. Simponi and Humira are fully human antibodies (name is self explanatory) so developing antibodies is unlikely. Entyvio is only a humanized which means it is mostly human, but contains some mouse protein so there is a slight chance of developing antibodies.

As everyone else said, either you misunderstood your doctor or he cheated on his MCAT because benydryl will not stop antibodies from developing. Imuran or 6mp will help though.
Pancolitis (UC) since Sept 2009

Salofalk/5-ASA (table) - 4g
