Very similar to my symptoms when I was flaring with IBD, e.g. fouled up blood counts, CRP spiked thru the roof, and losing 5 pounds a week.
Cancer is unlikely at your age but you need to get a colonoscopy if for no other reason than your own peace of mind that you don't have cancer. And to start a protocol to manage your IBD (many people here recommend rectal meds).
BTW I had a perianal abscess that was originally diagnosed to be an inflamed hemorrhoid. I knew something was wrong with that diagnosis and requested a 2nd opinion. The new GI confirmed that it was indeed an abscess. Getting that 2nd opinion saved me a lot of needless aggravation.
Male/62 DX IBD in Feb08. No meds, allergic to Mesalamine. Remission since Mar2010. Psyllium seed mixed with VSL3 is very helpful. Several Culturelle a day firms up stools. Food diary instead of SCD or Paleo.
