So my bilirubin is heightened so I'm doing a Prometheus to check my metabolites but I may have to get off imuran. Looks like I'll be on to the next thing. I am hoping to find something to work for me!!

Is the Imuran working? Could they lower your dose?
Tried: Entocort, Uceris, Mtx, Imuran, Humira, Remicade, Cortenema, Rowasa, Prednisone
Currently on: Entyvio (7/31), Apriso
As of last scope (6/14/14): Moderate to severe UC to 25cm

What about biologics like Remicade or Humira (or any other ones that are possibly out there that I'm not familiar with)...

I think I'm still in shock since learning last Monday that my crohn's colitis is clinically in remission from Humira (my hubby thinks that the marijuana also played a roll---I think the mj was more useful in regards to pain control and finally being able to sleep at night though--never was a very good sleeper through the night until I started smoking mj before bed)...now if I could only get my IBS under better control...for the most part this last 2 weeks, I've been going 4x/day which I'm truly grateful for, I just hoped that if I ever heard that my stupid IBD was ever in remission that I'd be back to one normal, controlled and healthy BM/day like it was before I got sick with IBD...though GI is convinced now more than ever that IBS is still playing out in my GI tract.
bee propolis caps 500mg one cap twice/day
omegas 369 caps one cap twice/day
probiotics 10 billion cfu once/day
vitamins C-calcium ascorbate (easy on the gut) and vitamin A each once/day
Prodiem fibre supplement one cap before bed
I've also altered my diet (no junky stuff at all, processed, fast-foods, refined sugars, ect) and exercise regularly.
I went from 30+ bloody BM's/day with lots of lower back pain to an average of 5/day no bleeding no back pain and completely formed stools, still have severe urgency issues.
~~~~~~~~My bum is broken....there's a big crack down the middle of it! LOL :)~~~~~~~~
Pb- yes if my test comes back saying I am metabolizing it wrong we will talk about those drugs. Yeah it's a ***** huh! You know what's crazy before UC I always had 6 bm a day and a lot of the time it was diarrhea.
Current meds: imuran 150mg, colazal (750x9), naturethroid.
Currently trying diet modification and e cig
Failed: Asacol, Apriso, uceris, budesonide (entocort).
6 a day of diarrhea??? That is crazy, that sounds like it IBD then or IBS cuz that's not normal at all...I hope you find some relief soon, nothing worse than being on meds and still suffering eh...depressing :(
I know! That was normal to me. For a long time I just thought that's how my body was until I got really sick then I got diagnosed with UC. Before that they would tell me they suspected ibs. I took meds like imodium and Prevacid and I ate a lot of tums lol.
Yeah it does suck! It also sucks that I believe imuran is helping but now my body doesn't like it. So I may have to use pred again in the interim between this and remi or something. We also still don't know if I could also have chrons or if it really is just UC. I can't afford to do the test to see :/
Hi Chrissy, was your bilirubin normal at the beginning of your treatment? I ask because I've been told my bilirubin is high due to gilberts syndrome and totally unrelated to my guts/meds. Just a thought, in case it means you can maybe hopefully try to stay on the meds that are working.
Pentasa 2g/day. Salofalk enemas and suppositories (up and down as needed). Metamucil caps daily, critical care 50 billion probiotic daily. Previous: asacol HD (switched when I started pooping them out whole).
