If I'm just going "too often" and everything is still coming out formed and normal without much or any strain, I generally don't worry too much.
You have described my IBS--formed, normal but just too many BM's like my colon is po'ed and wants everything out. No D, no blood, just BM after BM. Only slight urgency, not like the old bad days.
I discussed this exact issue with my GI. I said often I'm having up to 6 perfectly formed poops in one day and it's very annoying. He told me that it was likely my IBS and that he was comfortable with me taking an imodium on these days to help. I even clarified that he was telling me to take imodium when I'm having perfectly formed stools and he said yes. Maybe you can ask your GI if this would be ok for you?
I often find that my days of many poops are following a few days of no or only 1 small poop. So, for example, 6 days I will go 0-2 times a day...then on the 7th day I will go like 6 times a day...then usually the day or two after that no poops. It's a vicious cycle. I try not to use the imodium unless I really can't be poopin six times a day, but I mostly just tough it out and let the poopin happen.
