Well I decided to stop at the one dose of antibiotics. It just didn't sit well with me giving her them. Anyway, she is fine now
She has not had a fever since last night and has been playing and eating a little better today. I have been giving her paracetamol which I don't mind giving her but tbh I do not even give her that that much! I also gave her a few teaspoons of my VSL#3 mixed in with some apple juice! I don't know if you are meant to give such a strong probiotic to a small child but I figured a few teaspoons of it would do more good than harm!
I do worry about
her getting UC. I have heard that the chances of a child developing it are as high as 30 per cent if both parents have UC. hence why I am very careful with what she eats. I also breastfed her for a long time as I know breastmilk has a lot of probiotic in it too. However I discussed these concerns with my GI who said that the chances are more like less than 5 per cent of her getting UC and that she would still have to have a trigger to activate the disease later in life and that many with a pre-disposition for the disease may not even end up having symptoms are knowing that they are at risk if there is no trigger. I just have to hope and pray that she stays well and do my best for her. And if she does end of getting it later in life then at least she will have two very understanding parents that know exactly what she is going through.
Well panic over for now....lets see if she stays well tonight!
