i posted some pix in the past. they were like the ones ima posted but longer skinnier leaves. Mine had long prickly thorns. I don't think there were a bunch coming from one spot but i didn't inspect that well. I had to scrape them off

mmmm, well I think I will wait until the farmers market starts in a couple of weeks to see if they have any. I think the ones with the single needles are the correct ones, but as you guys know our digestive tracts aren't the best in the business, so trying ones we aren't sure of probably isn't the best route for me to attempt.

Have you looked on Craigslist? If no one's listing them try a post asking to buy some.
If they're growing all over maybe there is no market for them because people just get them free and only the gringos don't know which ones to harvest.

There are plenty of nopal supplements in every form that someone can buy. I'm using nopal pills and they seem to work fine.

I am new to this group and I have been suffering the symptoms of UC like everybody else to the point that, like everybody else ended up with the doc and prescribed Lialda and Rowasa with a side of Prednisone of course lol. It helped for a while but not until 3 days ago that I started drinking the nopal gel on water I can say that I feel better and energized without mentioning very excited to be able to control the flare ups without so many pills.
It's been 3 very rough years that has been nothing but giving up on things, lifestyles and even good job opportunities because this condition can take everything from you, but I am very hopeful that this remedy might be the answer to get my life back.
My theory about this remedy (and of course it is not a cure) is that the nopal regulates your digestion and coats your digestive system, it also helps the irritation and ulcers inside, like a coat of protection on the wounds. Again I am saying this because I found this remedy here and I hope this works for other people suffering the symptoms of this awful condition.

morris-glad you are getting good results from nopal. Best wishes for that to continue. Yes the symptoms from UC wreaks havoc on much of life.

I haven't used nopal since my 2015 post of getting constipation. Still own some cactus plants though haha. Nopal can be good for some people but not me. My gut does not like fiber and even though nopal's fiber is almost invisible the same thing happens with other "invisible" fiber. My gut friendly regulators are resistant starch (potatoes mostly), cooked spinach and chicken broth.
