Sixteen months ago I started to flare and was suffering mild condition with my UC.
This being China my options were and still are limited as to how to remedy my problems.
Anyway I decided to use TCM (traditional Chinese medicine) and did so with limited successes, but
finally I decided I needed something to quickly clear up my UC. I was concerned that the TCM was just
too slow and all the while my bowel was being damaged. This was evident from the mucus and occasional
blood in my motions, so I decided that a change was necessary.
Western medicines for this condition are very limited in my city. The choices are either mesalazine or prednisone.
Prednisone with all its side affects was rejected as an option leaving just mesalazine.
One months ago I started using mesalazine(1g three times per day)and additionally some TCM to help balance
Anyway after a few weeks things were getting noticeably better, so I decided to slowly reintroduce some more
interesting foods, such as seafood, dumplings, pizza, cake, etc.
Once again all seemed well, that was until the last few days anyway!
My b.m.'s are still about
the same amount, anything from one to three times per day, but I have increased gas, stomach discomfort, and my feces have gone from being formed to completely unformed and often they cause the water to become cloudy. Today I also noticed some frothy white stuff in the water, but it's not mucus, or at least not what I call mucus anyway!
The only good news is that so far I have not seen any blood!
I have suffered on and off with this illness for 30 years and it still confuses the hell out of me. I really do not know what to try next!!
Any sensible suggestion will be gratefully received, but do remember that I currently live in China.
