Two things used to cause night sweats for me: Prednisone and/or anemia.

I've been getting random night sweats since I was 25. Mine usually varies on to why it happens - sometimes it's hormonal, sometimes it's just hot, other times it's because my body is reacting to things (diseases, medications etc).

It's one of your body's best ways of excreting toxins - through sweat. Consider swallowing a lot of antioxidants to help it along - grapes extract, qing dai, wheatgrass powder. Go nuts and your body will thank you : )

I got horrible night sweats on prednisone.

I've always been a furnace, when sleeping. I'll wake up hot and sweaty. The heat is set to 55 degrees Fahrenheit at night, I have fleece blankets, down pillows, and down comforter. I often stick a foot, arm out of the comforter to thermal regulate while sleeping. Throw the covers off, etc.

My DW gets mad at me because we don't spoon all night in our sleep, sorry I'm a glowing red ember while asleep as it is and I don't need her heat+mine. She gets her side, I get mine lol.

During my first/worst flare, I had night sweats and I wasn't on prednisone.

iPoop, never mind having your own side of the bed. I kicked my hubby out to the spare bedroom, I needed my own whole bed. He was better off anyway, what with my many trips to the bathroom, changing my sweaty sleep t-shirt, throwing off blankets and then putting them back on, etc.

Even with my crohn's colits in remission (although I still have IBS) and only on Humira, I still get night sweats, it stopped for a little while then started again. I'm not sure if my sheets (soft fluffy mink sheets that I use) have more to do with it than anything else but I'm not giving those sheets up during the winter, even though it's been a pretty unusually mild one.

I get them as well. 2-3 times a week mainly in the winter. They don't keep me from sleeping but I do wake up and need to air dry out before going back to sleep (otherwise I'll start shivering).

I thought I was the only one! I have been getting them for over 5 years, the last 2 years it is a nightly occurrence. Sometimes keeping an arm or foot out helps to regulate my temperature. As an added bonus, I get them during the day occasionally now too but I think that's more hormone related.

LOL, why Q? What's so hard to imagine that I love my soft fluffy mink sheets? They're not actual mink ya know, they're the microfiber/sherpa fleece sheets lol. I use high thread Egyptian cotton in the summer lol!

Sometimes I get night sweats, yeah. But it's my feet which are the most prone to overheating. They don't sweat, but they get hot and flushed. The skin becomes more sensitive too and sometimes I have to give them and/or my shins a good, long scratching before I go back to bed.

Dunno what the night sweats are about. Not on pred, room is deffo not overheated, not having fevers in the evenings, etc. (at least nothing which the thermometer registers, but sometimes I do feel crappy in a low-grade feverish sort of way).

My daughter gets, them almost nightly, drenched. The dr has no answer.
I can't imagine what it's from. She's anemic, maybe that's a piece of it.

Yup, I get them. More so if there is inflammation.

These past nights the temp has been below 0 degrees F, the bedroom window is open a sliver, and I have been waking up sweating.

Bummer.

I get them nightly/bad on certain mg of prednisone. Or if I'm flaring badly.

One of my symptoms when flaring is drenching night sweats. Night sweats can also be a symptom of infectious diseases like tuberculosis. Anyway I could substantially cut back on sweating by taking just 2 capsules of garlic and 2 capsules of monolaurin each day.

I don't know why they seem to work but garlic and monolaurin have antiviral and antibacterial properties.

I get them very occasionally and have learnt to tie them to flare like symptoms starting to come on. Someone pointed out anemia so that is new to me (though my Hgb tends to be on the lower side). I think sickness in general can bring it on too like catching the flu. But if you are getting them too frequently , and are not around menopause you are better off mentioning it to your GI incase it is something more worrying
