Everything is going good UC wise, I still have occasional issues with my IBS and Diverticuar disease but nothing too major. We bought a fixer upper house in January and that is going smoothly, however, either from working on the house or sneezing like crazy due to allergies, I pulled my right rib muscle. I just got my left ribs feeling better after fracturing them last fall and now this! Hurts to breath, move, cough, etc then to top it off, I woke up yesterday with a sinus infection. Which makes it even worse because of coughing and blowing my nose. Going to urgent care today for the Z-pack.

Why does it seem that when one thing goes smoothly, something else swoops in to take its place???? mad

The unfortunate part is that some of us are more susceptible to stuff than others. I can relate, and for me..it's sometimes like everyday there's some issue, (be it significant or not) going on. So far the past 2 days have been awesome...I'm hoping for a good run, lol.

Hope you feel better soon.

I strongly suggest that you purchase a NeilMed sinus rinse system (the bottle that you mix a packet with filtered or distilled water). Use it in the morning and bedtime for a bit and then maybe just bedtime. Blow nose often while in the house construction.

It sucks...yep.

It's the worst sherry. You do seem to have your FAIR share of random things that happen. :( I guess we just don't have great luck in that regard. I hope you're feeling better soon.

Sorry to hear things aren't going well Sherry. Hang in there, I'm sure they'll turn for the better soon.

Do you wear a mask while working on house renovation? Probably there are paints & solvents that irritate your respiratory tract, maybe also particles from sanding, loose plaster, etc. Unfortunately, we UCers are chemically very sensitive! Hope you feel better soon-- and congrats on the new house. / Old Hat (35 yrs with left-sided UC; presently in remission taking brandname Colazal)

I did wear a mask during demolition as well as safety glasses and I try to use saline nose spray but I will be honest, I am not very consistent with that.

I had my DCR tube taken out of my tear duct last Thursday and before that I was having some strange color boogers. I kept asking the doc about it but he said that was normal. And I took his word for it because I didn't feel sick. Then when he took the tube out, wham! Full sinus infection.

But thanks guys. I woke up this morning after sleeping 10 hours thanks to Tessalon Perles that allowed my coughing to stop and allowing me much needed sleep. So I feel little better.

I am sorry for your ribs and sinus infection! Yikes. I'm glad you got a night's sleep, and I hope you are on the mend!

Just to clarify....sinus rinse, not spray. One cleanses, one helps to wet for easier blowing and moisturise.

I've never heard of Tessalon. I'll have to check it out online.

Happy to hear you had good zzzzzs. It'll help.

My ribs are killing me too! Costochondritis again I guess? This has happened about 4 times now and the doctors just say "musculoskeletal" so whatever. Not fun when I gotta haul around disabled teenage boys redface Luckily I had some naproxen (don't lecture me blush) and a muscle relaxer. Hope you feel better soon!

Costo is the worst!! I had that last year. Anything to deal with the ribs is just downright miserable. I hope you feel better too K. Btw, not sure if you know this but Valium also works on Costo. I helps loosen the muscle/cartilage and it makes sure you don't care if it does or doesn't! ;)

i agree, Costco is the worst - they have eyeglasses and hearing aids but what about a Chiropractor ?! sheesh - they sell nothing in singles - it's always a crate of 300 8oz tins of tuna, or a 4 pack of 40lb laundry detergent ! it's bad enough just getting the stuff in and out of the car, but then my wife says " can you put that on the TOP shelf in the garage, hon ?"

by the time i'm done, everything hurts ! back, shoulders, neck, you name it - "yes dear, no problem - i'll put that new refrigerator in the basement as soon as i can feel my hands again !"

Well Stud, look at what else Sherry said "Valium also works on Costco". Maybe that's what you need.
