There are Apps that you can download like GImonitor and GIbuddy that you can record, graph and make notes about
your condition/medications. GIMonitor has a nice QOL score graph that you can show the GI.
I remember one time that I was suffering really bad from Predisone withdrawal that I wrote up a list of everything that I wanted to talk about
with my GI and gave him a copy of it, we went over it together while I took notes. Normally I just make a list for myself but I was really overwhelmed at the time.
You're lucky that you don't need any of the specialized treatment from the IBD specialist/Department; I've gone to them for Cyclosporine because my local GI couldn't administer it, I've also had J-Pouch surgery at their hospital and the newer biologicals. But it is nice to have a GI who has experience with all this stuff, this way you can have a practical conversation about
it with the specialist if you ever need it.
