Seeing my gastroenterologist this week and one thing he's bound to ask is about
reducing my remicade (which is the only medication I am on) from 5mgs per kilogram every 8 weeks to 2.5mgs/kg every 8 weeks.
I'm currently in histological remission, no symptoms at week 8, my last c-reactive protein was 0.10 mg/dL (fall 2015), no remicade antibodies with a minimum concentration of 13 (anything over 3 is good), prior to my infusion (again fall 2015). Mine is a very high serum concentration at 24 hours prior to an infusion. Given I was on 6mp at that time, and I'm now off of 6mp.
I'm decided cautious and I'm thinking the most I'm willing to change is 5mgs per kg every 10 weeks (instead of 8). Beforehand, I'd want to see a new CRP and likely another infliximab minimum and antibody test, as they're both so darn dated. I'm guessing he'll ask for those updated, but I'd insist.
Any other thoughts or things to consider?
