Yep, I've been stricken with the plague, currently choking down Flagyl. 😕
A couple of days ago, started getting the di di, hardcore, total liquid. For my b-day, we got tickets to The Lion King. Fortunately, it wasn't completely ruined by diarhea but at one point, I about dang near toppled an old lady on her walker to get to the bathroom before a line was gonna form. Ugh, reluctantly sent in an email to GI and they ordered cultures.
I've been having this left sided pain, ongoing and I couldn't get GI to address it other than CRP test. As it so happens, I was seeing my PCP for my thyroid and I mentioned the pain. I already chased this down with my GYN, had ultrasound to check on uterine fibroid, it's behaving. My PCP sensed my anxiety and went ahead an ordered a CT scan to see what's going on. I inquired if we should check with GI, she just shrugged and said he has same access to results she has. Mm, k.
So, day before my actual b-day, yesterday, I was a nervous wreck, waiting test results. Kaiser does all their labs in house, you give blood and they'll be sending you an email notification of the results you can look at online, before you even get home, they're that fast. I had given blood and dropped off the poo sample and the blood came back good and later that evening, my poo test said negative, but I did not see part that said "test inconclusive, further testing needed". Between that and waiting scan results, I was a hot mess. Sure enough, next morning on my actual b-day, right at 8 am, GI calls and says I have c-diff and that my scan shows minor inflammation in my colon and another uterine fibroid. 😩
Sooo, stay on my probiotic? Should I take more of it? I forgot to ask. Doc didn't say stop my Humira, my dose is due tomorrow. Is that gonna be alright? Gawd, I've read enough c-diff horror stories and I'm worried. Funny enough, before I started Flagyl, the D started to subside, still looser bm's but less times a day going and urgency. I'm gonna stay the course with Flagyl but maybe I don't have c-diff that bad? I dunno, don't know a lot about it.
I feel like Typhoid Mary. I'm not sick per say but should I be avoiding stuff, like the gym, going to a family BBQ? And the left sided pain, I'm not completely happy with explanation.
Always frick'n something.
