Did you have biopsies done throughout your colon including the cecum?
Do you have the results from your first biopsies?
Likelihood....no one can predict subjectively, so no use in assuming. Hoping is a different matter, but doesnt change the results. Mine was 15 inches (38cm) bloody mess of inflammation when diagnosed. It's never spread beyond that point and flares are always limited below that area now (as per symptoms and scopes)....so i have clinically improved, although with last scope a year ago, I had psuedopolyps in the sigmoid which I hadn't 2 years before that.
Firstly, you need to determine if the inflammation is uc, cd or otherwise.
Personally, I dont think suppositories are enough for treatment....., but the area is regressing. If you do have UC, a med that totally covers the rectum and into sigmoud such as enemas would be a better choice. Trick is to cover beyond the area.
What dosage is the salofalk supps? And if its only 500mg, using the, twice a day would be better.
*Heather* I give suggestions, do with them what you will.
Status: ...Asacol 3 @ 2x daily; Salofalk enema @ 3rd night (nightly/ flares, tapered/maintenance)
~diagnosed January 1989 UC (proctosigmoiditis)
~Bentylol 20mg as needed; Zantac 150mg; Pulmicort/Airomir (asthma);Effexor XR 37.5 (depression)
~vitamins/minerals/supplements; Probiotics....(RenewLife Ultimate Flora Critical Care+Primadophilus Reuteri capsules @ bedtime)
~Metamucil capsules 7 @ 2x daily with meals; Vitamin D 4500 IU
~URSO 500mg @ 2x daily for Primary Biliary Cholangitis
My doc's logic.. "TREAT (FROM)BOTH ENDS" worth it !!!
