I had my hip replaced because I couldn't stand it anymore, I was actually happy it was AVN because I thought it was RA and would be on going issue. No one told me what stage my hip was, but it was bone on bone and disintegrating.
My hip replacement did not hurt, I would do that one first if you can. I've heard that knee replacements can be more painful. People do both knees at once but it's not advisable because it's very tough.
Due to our age we will need revisions in about
20 years because the devices wear out.
The healthier that you go into surgery the easier it will be, I let mine go too long and was not walking using certain muscles which atrophied. It made for a very long rehab.
