I started taking Fiber Con ( Calcium polycarbophil) last year and it helped with the frequency of BMs ( I probably have IBS and IBD). Well I am currently in a flare and I want to add some kind of fiber supplement to try and decrease the frequency again. When I take the Fiber Con it seems to sit in my colon and press against my bladder and make me feel like I have to pee. Its uncomfortable and painful. I do drink a lot of water.. have tried splitting up the dose etc and can't find relief...

Suggestions?

You may have to try several different fiber pills to find one your body likes. Mine likes Citrucel which was the most expensive until generic came out. Look at FiberCon ingredients to see what type of fiber it has so you don't get another with the same fiber.

There are a lot of fiber pills available (guess it a common issue) but many have the same type of fiber so read ingredients and keep track of which ones you tried. Good luck.

edit to add: I re-read your post and you did name the ingredients but I've never heard of calcium polycarbofil. Also when I started fiber pills I started with half a pill not every day which seemed to help my gut adjust. In bad times I took as many as 2 pills 2 to 3 times a day but after things got better it was 1 a day and now none taken.
