I'm sticking to bananas, yoghurt, fish and well cooked carrots and squash at the moment, not sure if that is low residue though. Any tips on the best foods to stick too whilst flaring?
I'm also looking into supplements because at the moment before I get a proper diagnosis the Dr given me predsol enemas only, which do seem to work but then I get constipated and the bleeding and mucus come back. Just wondering if until I get a proper treatment plan whether any supplements might help settle my symptoms?
When flaring, I eat the above you mentioned, but also get a lot of relief from chicken soap (only use the breast) with well cooked carrots (you can google the SCD diet recipe if you want). I eat that about
twice per day along with SCD yogurt and squash/bananas to get some carbs in when hungry. I limit the yogurt intake personally to a small amount and hard boiled eggs are very well tolerated for me. Some folks even have to puree veggies even when well cooked. You can look into a multi strain, high quality probiotic and start gradually introducing it. Keep a food diary.
