thanks everyone. Today stool was formed but floating, likely due to fibre and imodium from yesterday. Severe urgency....seconds.
I cannot describe the heartbreak from having normal bm's and having remission within reach to this. It also meant hope for my fistulas. I seem to be the only one on this site with painful, troublesome fistulas. I'm seeing my CRS on Friday to ask about
the LIFT/FLAP....but I have a feeling he'll decline. I found a place in LA that does them exclusively for Crohn's patients. I have no idea how I'll pay for it.
I have no idea if this is an infection and there's no way to find out. I just no that it's a diaper day as I have to take the dog to the groomer and then the park so she can get dirty again! lol I hope IVIG will help. I'm sure it will.
As far as next steps, I guess I'll try Stelara for 6 months and see how it goes. If not I'll try the MAP antibiotics and see what happens. I've emailed the crohn's MAP vaccine people about
giving me the drug on compassionate grounds but I haven't heard back yet. If I don't want an ostomy I'll have to keep going like this.
Miracles---yes was in hosptial for 6 weeks. Had formed stools upon discharge but I believe that was from high doses of oxycodone. Went through withdrawal but still had formed stools until last Sat.
Only other med is imuran. Been on that for 8 months.....wondering if I should stop it.
Climb---nice to meet you. Love Montreal. Go Habs Go!
IVIG (on hold)
UC/Crohns - tested positive for MAP antibodies & mycobacterium
chronic perianal abscess and fistulas. Failed setons...it was pure torture.
started Stelara May 24, 2017. 100mg imuran
Hoping to start Anti-MAP drugs soon
Had a 10 week reprieve, now flaring...again.
