I used to be like you myself, but at a recent appointment I flashed a picture of a nasty poop I took on my iPhone to my doc and his assistant. He said it wasn't anything he hadn't seen before.....
Try and remember this is their specialty, you know? it's be like someone discussing painting to me.....or mail delivery to a mailman, etc. Pretty basic stuff.
That said, I believe the pill cam is to view the small intestines, where a colonoscopy can view the rectum, large colon and ileum (where the small and large meet).
Have you ever had a stool test to rule out other pathogenic cause of your symptoms? that would be the first thing they'd do, I think.
So, right now you have zero symptoms?
I had tons of mucus, too. But then also some blood. Never had diarrhea , but plenty of constipation. My diagnosis was made after a colonoscopy and some biopsies were taken of my intestinal tissue (this revealed a pattern of repeated inflammation & healing).
Sometimes these autoimmune issues come in clusters......or at least that's my impression. I have some rosacea issues going on and also just cleared up some eye inflammation.
