Cardio is king. Every athlete depends on cardio for endurance, speed, mental acuity, mood,. Plenty of articles explaining how cardio benefits all systems of the body, including circulation, digestion, immunity, and systemic inflammation. At least 30 minutes a day is ideal but it's every other day for me.
You should do some form of exercise whether in remission or not. If you're in hell do yoga, tai chi or walking.
