I came across an article which said this was available in tablet form for $600 a pill. Has anyone heard or tried this?

I know open Biome sells FMT pills to clinical researchers of IBD, but you must be a gasteroenteroligist who is doing a research study of the effectiveness of FMT. You and I cannot buy them ourselves for personal use as the FDA regulates FMT pills as they do other drugs. Yeah, poop in a pill is considered a "drug" under current regulations.

Copy and paste this into your browser's address bar.

www.openbiome.org/fmtcapsules/

Healingwell likes to randomly break clickable-url's for some unknown reason.

Again, we cannot buy them, nor can we get a prescription for them.

Sorry I have checked back in till now. Yes that's where I seen it.. I discussed fecal transplant with my GI and he said to hold out until it's available in pill form to save me money.

I found the page for FT and I'm going to check with my doc in October to see what his thoughts are. They are doing it at U of M for C-Diff. After giving this isatis cooling supplement a try, I will ask about FT, that and worms (which I would never try, freaks me out completely!) are about the last two things I haven't tried. I thought, no way on FT, but heck it doesn't seem so bad now, since nothing is working for me.

I'm tempted. There's an open clinical trial with FMT at my gasteroenteroligist's office, with a different GI at that practice. They are using the open Biome via endoscope and then followed by the 30 pills. I inquired and at least want to learn more before deciding. One of the wonders of going to a teaching hospital's gastroenterology dept in a big college town. Still simmering with mild but annoying inflammation that just won't go into a remission. I could get placebo as it's a double-blind, which I want to know if you get the real-deal afterwards should one initially get into the random placebo group.

Interesting. What hospital do you go to for treatment? Do you have any more info on the clinical trial?

I believe it is this clinical trial, despite what the status says they are still a few participants shy of the needed number, and thus still recruiting:
/clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT02390726?recrs=abdf&cond=Ulcerative+Colitis&cntry1=NA%3AUS&state1=NA%3AUS%3AVT&rank=1

Just chiming in for any Canadians on the forum.

openBiome will not ship the pill internationally, even with a doctors prescription. I tried last year and that was the response I got.

I would just like to say that I was apart of an FMT pill based capsule for Colitis back in Jan. The study was called SERES-101. All I can say is comparing sigmoidoscopy pictures there was a huge improvement within a few month span.
