This forum has been a life link to me over the past three years. We all share our chronic conditions and can support one another😊 I have both Ulcerative (Pancolitis) and Psoriatic Arthritis and after several biologics Humira 40 every two weeks has kept everything under control for two years. A month ago my colitis returned with a vengeance. All the symptoms you recognize- 18 trips a day to the restroom,Urgency etc.
Colonoscopy biopsies showed active chronic colitis in the right & left colon and rectal. My GI called and said I need to move to Humira 40 on a weekly basis. My question to you, has anyone had to move to weekly injections and did it help? Any side effects from doing weekly injections?
I appreciate your input! I don’t want to increase my risk of potential health issues due to Humira exposure. However I know quality of life must come first. I’m just wondering if any of you were in a similar position.

Yes, some here do use weekly humira infusions. There's no additional or new side effects from increasing your frequency, it's the same as it was before with Humira for you. Few experience side effects from humira.

I went from bi-weekly to weekly as I had some lingering inflammation. I did not have any side effects from either dosage. Best of luck, I hope the additional dose helps to calm things down.

I went to every week almost from the start as every other week was not helping.
Had my Humira levels recently and they seem to be exactly where they should be

Sounds like you failed humira and might need a different class of biologics like Entyvio...

I went to weekly humira injections for 3 months with no increased side effects after 7 months of biweekly injections with little improvement. The weekly injections did not help me and my flare continued to worsen until I finally ended up in the Hospital on Oct. 20th and was started on Remicade infusions. I am doing much better now and reducing my Preds too. So you could say I failed humira. I sure did give it a good try though. If humira doesn't work for you than something new may do the trick.

Best of luck to you as you increase or change meds. Hope you get some relief soon.
