! I'm back with an update.
I met with my Dr today. He told me the results of my blood work and I am negative or within normal range on all an antibodies concerning IBD (I know those aren't 100% definite in general, but still). He said the biopsies "indicate possible chronic colitis." I also haven't had any symptoms since around the beginning of February (only started medication 6 days ago). When I did have symptoms, it was minor blood in stool for about
the entire month of January (great new year)
So, due to all of this, my Dr. doesn't want to flat out diagnose me as having Ulcerative Colitis. He wants me to continue this medication and go back in April and use blood work to check for possible inflammation, and from there figure if this is chronic or just an unusual case of prolonged colitis.
He advised against me using an enema since he fears it might cause more irritation to my rectum when this might not be chronic.
I am also receiving a second opinion from a GI doctor my grandparents really trust on March 23rd!
