Hi and welcome to the forum. There's a few regular posters on the UC forum who've had the j-pouch surgery. Not sure we have many with permanent ostomies who post regularly. So, I'd also ask this question over in the healingwell Ostomies forum, as you might get a better response: /www.healingwell.com/community/default.aspx?f=33
I did a forum search and have pulled up some prior discussions about
the Barbie Butt surgery which might give you some more insight into the process. From what I've heard over the years is it isn't an easy surgery to undergo, and it will take quite a while to fully heal afterwards. I'd imagine until you are fully healed that it could impact your intimacy with your partner, and mostly, it depends how quickly and uneventful your surgery is. Always hope for the best outcome, ask about
the worst outcome, and plan to land somewhere between the two outcomes as far as recovery time goes./www.healingwell.com/community/default.aspx?f=33&m=2503377/www.healingwell.com/community/default.aspx?f=33&m=3237591/www.healingwell.com/community/default.aspx?f=33&m=3305631
Good luck! And do post back and let us know how it goes!
