Bruce....Which still means you have inflammation happening before the bleeding happens. Any noted change in symptoms before the bleeding?
Maybe, but hard to know because when I don't eat bad food, I am effectively in remission, i.e. formed stool, no blood, no mucus, and going once a day regularly for the most part, even low calprotectin, colonoscopy on diet show normal colon.
If I eat disallowed foods, the symptoms come back, blood, mucus, diarrhea and very high calprotectin, colonoscopy off diet show lots of inflammation. Then remove the foods, and back in "remission" again. It's entirely causative for me. I've done it over 50 times on and off.
Medication or no medication, there will be bloody diarrhea off the diet.
