My vitamin D was low, so my GI did a 7 week prescription for the high dose and then I am supposed to drop to 2 or 3 k a day. I had been taking a boron magnesium calcium combination, but grabbed just calcium a couple of weeks ago. I need to get the other stuff again.
I am aware I can say no to meds, and had pretty much decided to push the issue when I had my upcoming appointment. This seals the deal for me.
The technician just showed me the chart, so I don't have the lab numbers. She told me my spine was right on the border between ostopenia and osteoperosis so she hadn't been sure what the report would say, but she looked and it was just over the line. I just didn't expect it to be so bad already. To answer the question, I was on solumedrol for a week in 2017 and went home on 40 but tapered by 10 a week right away. I spent 3 weeks on Uceris after that. Then in November of last year I was sent home on nothing but steroids, and have been on 20 to 40 mg since. I wanted to come down off of them because I have felt in the last week that I am not just going to spiral down if I do go off of them. I think the Rowosa enemas have helped, and I think the Entyvio is finally starting to help some.
