^The above is completely untrue. Years ago the mods were ruthless tyrants who deleted those they disagreed with. I call BS where I see it lol. I know nobody likes mods, we're just bad cops spoiling the fun
(-_-) *sigh*.

it's 100% untrue. I have never deleted any thread I don't think, except in the case of spam. I've even left threads where i've been flamed to allow for transparency. We work hard to ensure we do not abuse our capabilities (which are actually quite limited and include, lock, edit, delete, and ban). We have to do what we can to keep things peaceful, and if locking or editing/deleting posts is necessary, that is all we can do. There have been literally a handful people banned in all the years I've been here - and those people were extremely disrespectful. Let's not go around and pretend there's been a huge number of people banned for the moderators benefit, in fact, that's never happened a single time. People are banned for being disrespectful, and for their unwillingness to get along, not for having a different opinion. I couldn't give a youknowwhat if you think bananas up the bung heal you. We tend to give people multiple chances before going to the extent of banning, too many chances, often times.

Thank you clo, that means a lot. smilewinkgrin

Good points mods, but you have to admit there are a few people here who mainly attack other people and seem to get away with it for years on end while others have their threads locked just when the debate is getting interesting. I know it's a tough job, but to be fair, it aint fair... and serial abusers even though they are "elite members" should have some sort of consequence.

Sorry Beatuc, but we cannot get rid of people you don't like, just because you don't like them. Again, put users on ignore if they get to you. Mods warn folks and give temporary time-outs at times for those who are going above and beyond in breaking rules. The site owner, Peter Waite loves to give people many chances (2nd, 3rd or more chances), as we all have times when we're stressed, our chronic illness is getting to us, prednisone is making us crazy, there's times when passion over an issue gets the better of us, etc. If you've been posting a while, contribute and help others than it is rather difficult to be booted permanently.

The few bans since I've been here from spamming by new users, affiliate selling products through links, etc.

But you don't look sick... Trust me, if I looked like I feel, then everyone would run out of here, scared within an inch of life...

Please feel free to shoot us a quick email when it happens - just a link would be helpful. If we can check it out and initiate correction quickly, perhaps these bullies will change their ways. The problem I have, is that I try to be minimally involved if I don't have something positive to say, which leaves me out of most topics regarding alternatives. None worked for me, and I don't think going around touting negativity over and over is beneficial to anyone. I peruse those topics, but without some notification, I am unlikely to notice snarky intricacies. I mostly look for blatant name-calling and spam.

It's great to see you come forward and want to bring about a more positive overall vibe here. I appreciate that. I hope the people you have had issues with in the past take notice, and let bygones be bygones.

As for past banned users, anyone who is banned is welcome to contact the moderators and communicate their feelings. Banned users rarely attempt to make amends, they tend contact and further bash us, that's why they don't return.

Speaking of being supportive and helpful and all that stuff, BeatUC.....did you happen to see the post enquiring about DVTs, clots, etc? Was it you who was hospitalised because of one?
