When I first started pre-menopause, I didn’t notice I was quickly annoyed. I wasn’t nice and it was like I had claws ready to scratch anyone and hiss at them. I also had hot flashes. When I first starting seeing symptoms of hot flashes, I was able to control it with natural supplements like black cohosh and other supplements that a good vitamin store (better than Whole Foods but they can help you) person would recommend. ( didn’t really help being agitated and depressed). The symptoms would lasted a couple months then go away. This happened over 3 yeas with the symptoms staying longer each episode. Once the supplements quit being effective, I studied about
bio identical hormone cream. My sisters GYN is one of the top guys in the US and has a book out on it, Youth Effort, by Ronald Brown. My Husband is really happy when I’m taking it and so am I. Bio identical hormones are one of the safest ways to go. UC disease makes us miserable anyway so why be doubly miserable. The UC drugs will get you first anyway probably.
It sounds like you may be spiraling down in depression so anything people recommend, your depression is taking over and just saying no and keeping you in a doward spiral. It takes going to see a good GYN who does bio- identicals and talk to them. You two may decide on another approach but least you have the option. Take someone with you so they remember the conversation with the doctor or record it so you can listen with a friend.
Menopause symptoms really effected me. I have to work, not get a divorce, I love my husband, and deal with UC. Menopause systems tipped the scale for me cause I could only handle, not great, work, husband, family and UC. It’s a lot to deal with. It’s OK to get more info on options. You don’t have to take them but least get the info and then you can make a decision that’s best for you.
Also note just antidepressants will relieve hot flashe, agitation and depression symptoms of menopause. That why Prozac got Popular years ago.
