That's a good list. You might want to ask how long you can expect to be in the hospital. I think I was out in under 2 days. When can you resume a normal diet? I don't think I had restrictions, but some people's surgeons give them. What are your prep instructions?
After surgery, I didn't take anything for quite a while. I still don't usually take anything, not metamucil, not imodium. I took fiber for a while, but i didn't see any WOW result that made me feel like it was worthwhile. I live quite normally, no drugs, no urgency. Pouchitis usually wouldn't poop up soon after surgery, but most people describe it is a return of some of the familiar UC symptoms, but usually more mild. You could go more often, and have some urgency, some might have blood... I wouldn't expect to have it anytime too soon, but it's good to be informed. I couldn't safely pass gas for a while after my takedown. it was a risk, kind of like passing gas while flaring. Now i can do it normally, but there was a period where I couldn't tell the difference, so be careful
