Hi all!

Quick update, my pregnancy has been going great. 30 weeks now! UC has also been doing well! However I am now on antibiotics for a sinus infection (it hurts to open my mouth, chew, headache, hurts to touch my face even). I’ve had 3 bms today. It’s not quite diarrhea and I am taking probiotics in between doses of antibiotic. I’m on day 3 of 10 and antibiotics have never bothered me before. Any other safe tips you guys might have? (Diet also does not usually bother my UC, thinking about getting some kefir maybe, dairy usually helps.)

Also we were supposed to move on the 15th and everything is packed up and taped, but it got delayed. 😡 Suggestions for calming foods, takeout, etc? The only methods I have to cook are a tiny saucepan, oven, and air fryer 😩

Cipro has a black box warning and should only be used for serious infections, certainly not sinus infections. It can cause disabling side effects.

@sirenshooter, probiotics should help, but talk with your GI and see if he/she can help you prevent a flare. You might be able to get rectal meds, if you can take them. Keep a temporary diary listing your symptoms.

I suggest mesalami e enemas for sure. Psyllium fibre supplements with meals....start slow like one capsule with each meal.

Sinus rinses..... neti pot or hydra Sense or NeilMed....

Food like eggs, potatoes, soft veggies....

Keep us updated. Feel better soon!
