Hi all. I haven't been on in awhile. Long story short. 13 years into this. Failed all meds, failed a bunch of drug trials. Doctor gave me 30 days of Xeljanz (and knock on wood it is slowly helping). However getting my insurance to fill it has been a total nightmare. Today is Day 43 since my script was sent in and is still not filled. Our insurance is CVS/Caremark. My prior authorization is in, the script is there, I'm enrolled in the savings program. Yet still isn't available to ship sad

Did you call CVS Caremark? What do they say re: why it is unavailable to ship?

My Xeljanz was approved immediately and shipped 3 days later, once the pharmacist processed it.

I call them everyday. First my script was “written wrong” then my preauthorization was lost. It has been a lot of mishaps. I hope the xeljanz is helping you!

Yes Pink I was prescribed Entyvio by my GI doctor. CVS Caremark denied payment. Doctor then switched me to Xeljanz, again it was denied by CVS Caresnotmark. Yesterday my doctor called them and after several long, time consuming conversations with Caremark, they gave their prior approval for Humira. This off and on process has been going on over a month now. We've had our same insurance, same pharmacy for many many years; NEVER had problems with our medication until CVS Caremark became involved. Good luck to you. Evidently 'they' have never needed medication to function in this short life

It took me 3 months to get approved for Xeljanz and it was a nightmare process. I finally did get approved about 2 weeks ago and have been taking it ever since ( 20 mgs a day). I had failed both Humira and Simponi and don't want to jinx myself but I think ( and hope) it is working. I have been able to taper my prednisone ( 17.5 mgs) but the real test for me will be when I get to below 10 mgs.

It finally came today! I started this process 11/5. I actually had no issues getting Humira, Remicade or Entyvio approved by our insurance. This has by far been the most difficult. Luckily I had a 30 day sample and have seen improvement since I started those (knock on wood).

Awesome! Good luck 🙂

Also, while I don’t yet know if Xeljanz is going to work for me (not quite 2 weeks yet), I suggest taking it a day at a time. There are so many amazing stories about how quickly it works, but that’s not the case for everyone and my doctor said not to panic until about 6 weeks 😉

Thanks! I had 30 days of samples and it was helping. Crossing my fingers it continues to!
