It's been a while. I'm doing pretty good, still every 6 weeks on remi, might up my dose as my bms have been a bit looser lately. I had some kind of polyp in my colon, so I will get yearly colonoscopies.

It's been an amazing and tough 5 years since my pregnancy. My daughter is turning 5 and she has come so far from 1lb 8oz. I had mysterious aches and terrible pain for years which got worse and worse, I was checked for everything again and again. Turns out I have tophi gout in most of my joints. I'm 6 mos since dx and on 300 mg allopurinol for the rest of my life, I am doing much better and can almost walk normally down stairs again.

I see some familiar names and hope you're doing well.

Hi Beth!!! Happy new year to you and Beth ☺

Sad to hear of your Tophi Gout diagnosis...wow, never heard of it before...
Looks terribly painful. Has the allopurinol lessen the crystal deposits as well and keep them controlled?

Were all polyps you had fully benign?

Welcome back...

Welcome back smile

Glad your daughter is doing well!

Although a new diagnosis, Tophi Gout, stinks at least they have given you a treatment that's helping!

Hello Beth

I have read your posts in the past and it gave me hope for Remicade which I have been on since June. Can you tell me about your experience regarding GI issues over the last 7-8 years?

Hi, Beth! It's wonderful to get your update, though I'm sorry to hear you got an additional DX recently. Gout may have some dietary irritants/triggers that you can find out about. Wishing you all the best for 2019 & many happy times with your daughter! Age 5 is amazing. Cyberhugs to you both! / Old Hat (38 yrs with left-sided UC; presently in remission taking brandname Colazal)

Hi Q!

Yes it has greatly reduced the crystal deposits in my hand that I can see. My joints feel better too. Seeing the deposits is what finally got me the dx, but by that time I had just figured it out a week before my rheumatology appt because it gave me more symptoms to Google.

Yes, the polyps were benign but there was something the Doc said. I will check my report.

Hi John!

Hi Countess,

Besides a small flare in my first trimester in 2013, which they moved my remicade from 8 weeks to 6 weeks, I have been doing great (knock on wood). I have been under immense pressure/stress at work since Sept so I think that may be giving me a bit looser bms. I love getting my remicade, I go next Wednesday and take some benadryl and get a nice nap in a recliner with heated blankets. I'd be happy to answer any questions you have. I am at the lowest dose of 500mg per Kg. I hope its helping you!

All my best,
Beth

Hi Old Hat!

Good to see you again. I hope you are doing well! I have noticed I do feel better eating a low amount of processed carbs. I am going to try sprouted grains ..I think that's what it's called my sister in law was talking about that over Christmas.

Hugs to you too! My daughter is doing great, she loves gymnastics, playing outside and has my slightly evil sense of humor too.

Hi Q,

I found my report. I had a benign adenomatous polyp removed, they want to know if its sporadic or if I have dysplasia (not likely) so they will repeat the colonoscopy again this year instead of every two years.

fx!

Definitely good to be monitored yearly...how about other biopsies?
