I preferred Coloplast over Hollister. For some reason all the hospitals use Hollister.
The accessories make all the difference and Coloplast makes the best.

I liked wearing a belt at first, it gave me more support.
Tell your roommate to put a pillow over her stomach as she is vomiting, it will give her a little more support on her weakened abdominal area.
It sounds like she has ileus (her intestine went to sleep). Sometimes chewing gum can help wake it back up.
