Yes, you can get anus cancer and you have a good amount of rectal stump left which can also become cancerous. The real issue is that you will have mucus and uc symptoms if you don't. You can delay this step for a very long time but you will want to get it done at some point.
FYI, there are women who wear bikinis with an ostomy. Check out social media and google.

Did you ask for a second opinion on the biopsy of your colon? The biopsy of the colon is one of the best ways to determine if you have CD or UC. With that being said, everyone was certain that I had UC from my colon biopsies. I've had pouchitis from the first day.
I'd also take my time finding a house to buy in the NY metro area, the housing market is in the midst of a correction or worse.
