So I’m freaking out. In my routine labs my GI became concerned by some of my levels (only high one I really noticed was my basophils). He tested for hepatitis and the hep c antibodies came back reactive... I work in healthcare but am extremely careful. I am waiting on results to see if I actually have the virus. I’m worried about myself and my baby, he is five months old, if I have it, did I have it when I had him, etc. I’m on immune suppressants as well... I basically haven’t taken my meds in the past five months but don’t have much in the way of UC symptoms. I read that some autoimmune disorders can cause a false positive for antibodies... has anyone else dealt with this??

This has been the most anxious weekend of my life sad

That thread is about TB? Not sure if it applies to Hep C, unless I’m missing something? Also I noticed my AST is five times normal but my WBC and ALT are fine.

Still waiting on results X(

We hope that you and your Baby(congrats) will not have Hep. For the last 6 months our news has been telling people to get tested for Hepatitis since some have been dxd. unexpectedly while in hospital. They had no clue that they had it.

My hubby and I have had our heads in the sand, since we still haven't asked about getting tested. Never thought we would have reason to be but after reading the symptoms(like fatigue) and risk factors like eating salad greens even(we stopped eating those since so many times they've been recalled). Maybe in July, I will get tested after my Rheumy appointment.

Best to you and your baby!!

I had some salad at work and it made me so sick! I don’t eat work food anymore. When I was in the hospital I had a terrible nurse and I also had a spinal block, c-section and blood patch and was mistakenly prescribed blood thinners so who knows what I was exposed to..

Still waiting on results. And thank you smile

Here's a post from a few years back on Entyvio and Hep C.
https://www.healingwell.com/community/default.aspx?f=38&m=3328307'

And a link to a discussion on HEPATITIS C VIRUS (HCV) AND BIOLOGIC THERAPY:
https://www.clevelandclinicmeded.com/online/monograph/hepaticliver/article4.htm

I know we've had some issues in the past where people have had a sudden positive TB test while on a biologic. First, false-positives do sometimes happen, so running another test makes sense. If you truly got it, then these posters got it cleared through an infectious-disease doctor's treatment and then resumed their biologic. A couple examples:

User FaithMac's positive TB and biologics:

Sara14's positive TB and biologics:
https://www.healingwell.com/community/default.aspx?f=38&m=3726112

I would think that TB and Hep would be synonymous as they are both infectious that can remain dormant, and we are often pre-screened for both before starting a biologic treatment.

Good news! I am negative for the virus so he said it was a false positive. So just to figure out now what’s causing my wonky levels..

Also I lied. My ALT is not okay.. it’s over 200 and my AST is in the 100s 😬
