Just looking for some wisdom from this forum. I've been on Humira since September 2017, and it's been the only thing that has worked for me. Due to a job change and thus an insurance change, I missed almost a month of doses (I take Humira weekly). I didn't have any issues being off of it (which was extremely surprising to me since my ulcerative colitis is usually severe) until a few days before I finally received my medication when I started experiencing mild flare symptoms. I've been back on Humira for 2 weeks, but still experiencing flare symptoms and they are getting worse, not better. Do I wait and see if I get back to remission? Is it possible it will just take a while because I was off it for so long? Or did I develop antibodies and completely screw up my chances of using Humira again? That's what scares me the most. I should probably just get the blood test and find out, but looking for any insights.

I would contact your gasteroenteroligist and have him/her run some tests (fecal calprotectin, humira levels/anitbodies). I would wonder if you need to do the loading doses again, since you stopped for so long?

I don't think you develop antibodies from going off of it. The antibodies are from being on it. There is talk her about being off meds (not just biologics) and then resuming they don't work - but I have never seen that in medical studies.
