I have heard that they are in the market but no idea if they are available for use (or their brand names). Anybody has any idea or have tried them? How are they in terms of the effects and the costs.

Remsima and inflectra are two biosimilars for remicade. They have similar efficacy and cost less than the brand but the exact price depends where you live.

I take Inflectra, which is a Remicade biosimilar. My GI said they're equally as effective, but the cost is significantly less for Inflectra, and since I have Kaiser and it is all done in house, I was prescribed Inflectra. Both manufacturers have co-pay assistance programs, so if you have insurance, your cost should be about the same

Unfortunately, if the sudden appearance of D on Thursday and blood today are any indication, I have officially failed Inflectra (I am on the highest dose, and recently started going every 4 weeks, which is the closest frequency allowed). But that's just me -- nothing is containing this beast.

Thank you.

The reason I am investigating this, my insurance is HDHP with 6K/person deductible. I am in no mood to pay such high deductible, in addition to almost $1500/month premium for the family of 3. So trying to find a cheaper way out.

A number of sporadic posts about inflectra here.
