Yes my GI doc gave me just one pill prescript
ion. I can't remember what it was as I haven't had a cscope in 3 years, but I will be having one soon and will post when I get it. I already mentioned it again to the MA at my last GI apt and she said no problem, just remind them when I schedule my scope. It made a WORLD of difference. I also take a pill for flying to Europe as with age I started having almost claustrophobia type issues on long flights. Middle age sucks. I just take a 1/2 pill and it takes the edge off. Those are the only two times I ever take anything, so I don't see the harm. Plus stress/anxiety isn't good for UC! So it seems silly to make us suffer and risk flaring. I have no issue asking for what I need. I think all GIs should proactively as their patients how they take the prep. The first two times I was a trooper, but as I get older I think about
it more and more and literally have a panic attack on the bathroom floor trying to take my prep and not throw it up. Why go through that?
Officially Diagnosed with UC in June 2003. Have had stomach issues since 1989. Unknown if they are related or not. Have mild/moderate UC. Have had 6 flares, the last one caused by giving birth. Currently back in remission! Only taking 6 Asacol a day. Will take Rowasa enemas as needed. Colozal did not work for me. Luckily my UC is relatively minor and responds well to meds, but man do those flares hurt!
