I should have known better!!! My pouch was just settling down these last 2 months .. not normal but better then the last year . Since eating a few handfuls of peanuts and dried fruit I have been experiencing server gas pain , back door pain which I would say out of 10 it’s a 12. My whole rectum area and surroundings area feels bruised and I am experiencing pressure down there which I haven’t felt since before my surgery’s plus lower back pain
All this because of the peanuts that I “chewed well “but it seems may have irritated or caused some damage to my lovely pouch sad
Has anyone else experienced something like this ?

That stinks valli. I eat all sorts of peanuts, nuts, and dried fruit and I haven't had an issue with my pouch, nor do they come out painfully. They are sort of a safer thing for me. Stuff I have to avoid is HOT stuff. Hot comes out burning often, but once in a while, I eat it without any repercussion. Once in a while, I eat something very mild and it comes out like a level 10 hot.

People say to chew well to avoid blockages. I don't think I've seen anyone mention that nuts are bad for their pouch, but you never know, and I know your pouch is finicky as it is so avoiding rough foods may be for the best.

I am happy you've been doing well for a few months. I hope this passes quickly. Are you still taking antibiotics or have you been off for a while?

Have you been able to empty your pouch? Do you have a partial blockage? Could be the cause of gas issues.

I haven’t gotten a blockage since my first year. I’d get really bad bloating and gas but wasn’t able to empty my pouch.

I’d try red wine, coffee or some hot pads and a hot shower/bath to see if you could remove the blockage if you have one.

I went to nuts too fast with my jpouch. Tried some almonds since I love those and they're fairly healthy, ended up irritating my pouch. Not gas wise but it irritated the lining and caused bleeding (I guess?). Doc said give it 6 months to almost a year before trying anything too rough such as nuts. Not sure how young your pouch is.

Hi NSSG gave up the antibiotics a few months before the fecal transplant since then things settled down a wee bit . Not 100% but as well as my pouch will allow .
Spices for me are a no no even a little red pasta sauce burns right thru . I typically avoid anything that has any spice to it . I believe I have a extremely sensitive pouch .
I tried dried mangos last week three small pieces and I paid running to the bathroom for hours .
Hope you are doing well

Hi 3TC hope all is well with the kids and work . How is your mom ?

I took an Imodium early on in the evening and that stopped everything but the problem was I was bloated the whole night with stomach pain didn’t go to the bathroom till 3:30 am till then I woke up every hour feeling bloated ...?but it was better then running to the bathroom all night .
How much Imodium do you take and do you use Metamucil? And does it make you bloated ?
Thanks

Hi KS 1905 I didn’t have a blockage because I was running to the bathroom non stop

How did you get your blockage ?

And I know when my pouch is empty most of the time I start pooping form yellow liquid .. it’s not a nice feeling sad

Good idea about the wine or hot liquid I should have tried that last night after I took the Imodium because for the next 9 hours I couldn’t eat or drink because I felt so bloated .

Bull101 my pouch is a year old ( take down Aug 2018)
I think it’s just a very sentive pouch and up until Aug this year I still had ulcers and inflammation in the pouch . Maybe a few more months till it heals completely than I can nuts again.
