Admin...Whatever the new change...please put it back! Posts indent to the right and narrow down to 2 words per line as threads get longer. Does on my phone AND tablet as of yesterday evening.
A major tick off, inconvenient and stupid.

It has to do with bad BulletinBoard (BB) coding in a user's signature, fixed that person's signature, so new posts by them should be fine going forward.

I've never seen that on here before....and that's a long while and daily. I have seen links that are LOOOOOOONG creating a very wide page...which I don't bother reading.

You want a pic?

I saw it in the Medical Medium thread. However, in long running threads & older threads I see in those. HW is still operating on the old format dated 2004. In the CP forum I would limit threads to 5 pages, then make a Part 2 & it helps a lot.

The reason is kind of technical and a bit boring. But for those of you interested the user had some HTML code pasted within her signature. There was a rather curious mix of some HTML </font> tag and some BB-code within [brackets], as well. Probably the result of copy/pasting from another forum, or from MS Word or something. I know the site owner tried to eliminate a lot of old HTML <table> tags and rather use <DIVs> as is the current design recommendation. However, the old tables were a lot better at handling broken/busted HTML/BB coding then the new stuff is. Clearly caused a parsing/display error with the backend coding. I know some of the changes to the new look (well a year ago new look) was a bandaid over the top to make this look a bit more modern. Some of the improvements to the look/feel made it more vulnerable to it breaking in display. Like the quote of a quote function used to work in the old look, now breaks in the new look. Same goes with the siggy, used to be safer in the old look, but the new look makes bad siggys more vulnerable to breaking the look. In the end, it's just putting lipstick on a pig, the forum's guts are still an old pig that's full of lots of weird bugs. Not the 1st time I've seen posts break the look of the forum.

Hopefully, some of that blabbering at least makes some sense, at least to the more technically/nerdy among us. Always difficult to explain computer coding simply in layman's terms and not loose the meaning, without writing a dissertation.

My opinion has always been throw this old forum system's bones and skeleton out, and use a modern, out of the box forum system that isn't buggy and antiquated. Expressed it many times, and always fallen on dead ears lol.

It isn't fixed. It's still doing it in the Medium thread.

New posts by the user are fixed. However, I did not go back and edit each and every post made by the user prior to my change. AND one instance of the bad signature makes the whole thread look like crap.

Easier fix, I just turned off her siggy on each of the old posts. That made that thread readable.

Never teach a pig to sing (or wear lipstick).
It wastes your time ...
And annoys the pig.

That, sir, is IMHO an embarrassment for the owner of such a vibrant, and ad supported site. Keep trying iPoop, and thank you!!!
