Awesome! Yes, that's great you get your own room. I can't imagine having to share one. Glad you are feeling optimistic now. Good luck! Order lots of drinks and lemon ice to chase that prep down (depending on which you are drinking...)

This time tomorrow it will all be over. Hoping that you are another FMT success story!

Thanks guys. Confirmed I will get a Xanax. Yeah!! Saw the GI fellow and he confirmed I will be an add-on to the schedule for tomorrow but schedule is pretty light. Pending any emergencies I should have FMT in the afternoon. He didn’t know how long after I would be discharged but hoping only a few hours like regular cscope. We will see. I can do anything for 24 hours(how I got myself through labor) so turning clock on in my head right now. I got this!

Officially Diagnosed with UC in June 2003. Have had stomach issues since 1989. Unknown if they are related or not. Have mild/moderate UC. Have had 6 flares, the last one caused by giving birth. Currently back in remission! Only taking 6 Asacol a day. Will take Rowasa enemas as needed. Colozal did not work for me. Luckily my UC is relatively minor and responds well to meds, but man do those flares hurt!

Just got my prep and Xanax. Finally!! They had it scheduled for tomorrow for some stupid reason. Thank god there was a nurse change and I got a Jen. The angel nurse who helped me deliver my daughter who had trouble breathing and walked me through everything was named Jen and I have always had good luck with Jen nurses ever since. I take it and finally back on track. Found out I am on the neuro ward and she had no idea how I should do the prep. Omg. Dying laughing. I am doing the goltyley jug and luckily there were directions as last time I did the smaller amount one. Back on track. Starting prep soon. Wish me luck. At this point I had so much anxiety about not getting the prep and not eating for 22 hours that I am actually less anxious about the actual prep. Hahaha.

Omg!!! That's funny. Late prep! I've always done GoLytely, other than once and I will always do GoLytely after that one bad experience with Miralax. My old GI told me it's the safest prep. I chase it with lemonade, Gatorade or lemon ice. Have fun! Ha. I'm glad you got a Jen nurse. smile

Ok since you always do this one do you chug 8oz every ten minutes until it is gone. Or can you stop once everything is coming out clean? Haven’t done this one in three years so i am rusty...I do the plug nose, chug through straw, chase with ginger ale, unplug nose method. 3 down...million more to go!!!

Sorry, I was sleeping. I personally always stop once it comes out clean and I've never had a doctor say anything about me not being cleaned out. The time I prepped in the hospital, I may or may not have poured some of the prep out while the nurse was out of the room. Lol. The next morning after my prep, my doctor came in and informed me "You have c diff.; we don't need to scope you." I was pretty irritated I went through that prep for nothing, lol.

I did all the prep except for like 4oz. So sitting here and just saw my c.diff test results from yesterday and they are negative. Sooo. Are they negative because I have been back on vancomycin since Thursday or is it really negative and so I shouldn’t do the FMT?? Ugh....this whole thing has been such a nightmare. I wonder what the heck the GI doc is going to say when he comes to see me this morning. Barely slept last night and my nerves are shot. Could really use some nachos or a burger about now. Ugh!!!!

Hmm, I don't know how that works. Maybe they'll want to scope you anyway to see what's going on. Do you get to see your actual GI or no?

No but they have all my history and I typed up everything that happened since August. My doc does procedures on Tuesdays but she is only working today due to the holiday week. Soooo. I will just wait and see. I actually had some small formed BM yesterday before prep. I get better on the Vanco just can’t stay that way when I go off!!

Right. Hopefully they will understand that. Seems like nothing can ever just be easy and go smoothly! Lol.

I just remembered I had a night-shift "angel nurse" too when I was in the hospital for C diff. I was so ill I pooped my bed while sleeping -- twice in the same night. I was on dilaudid for pain, had been prepping that night, and I guess was just too sick to wake up in time. I tried looking for extra sheets in the closet myself but couldn't find them, but I was so ill I could barely even muster the energy to feel shame/embarrassment so I quickly called the nurse. She changed my sheets. She didn't make me feel stupid at all, said it happens all the time and acted like it was totally normal.

You won’t believe this. I am still here can’t have the procedure until tomorrow late afternoon AND I have to prep again. Whoever said I shouldn’t still be on Vanco was 100% correct. No one caught it until this morning so i hate to wait for it to be out of my system. On tops of it they told me they thought it might be an issue at 8am and I got zero update until I threatened to discharge myself. They finally showed up at 3:00 and explained the issue. Only good news is I can 100% leave tomorrow unless there is a normal c-scope or anthesia issue. Sooooo.......still here and hanging on. This is such a nightmare

Omg!!! What! Why do you have to prep AGAIN?! Did they let you eat today? I guess 2 days without food would have been hell. I am so sorry. I would be so upset. Prepping is very unpleasant! I was wondering how you were doing. What a mess. They really dropped the ball there.

Haven’t eaten since Saturday night so I won’t have to do as much prep but yup again!!! So crazy. Got another Xanax and double my anti-nausea so I am in the zone and getting it done. Thx for cheering me on Sara. Having someone that really really gets it helps so much. Don’t feel bad about your angel nurse story. Let’s just say glad I brought extra underwear. Whoops!! Things we have only say here!

Wow, you haven't eaten and still have to prep again? Weird. Glad you dont have to drink as much at least. Haha, very smart to bring extra underwear! And I'm glad you got more xanax and anti-nausea meds! That helps a lot! Hopefully, tomorrow all goes smoothly. You must be hungry. It will be great to eat a nice meal when it's all over tomorrow.

It is actually still coming out yellow. They mentioned something about the “lining”. Dunno. Just hoping it goes clear soon. This crap sucks!!

Just thinking about you and wondering how it went today. Update us when you can. Hopefully you're home now, well-fed and resting in your own bed.

You have had a right horrendous time with this C-Diff Jen. I can sympathise because as you know, I was incredibly unwell for 2 months. Thankfully I have been in remission over a month now so the period of potentially getting C-Diff again quickly after is slowly going for me thank god. Always a worry though. You will get there like we keep saying. Hopefully this procedure will do the trick.

Yes! They brought me down at 10:30am and did the procedure at 11:30. I never saw the doc and she didn’t even come talk to me after the procedure. They wheeled me back to my room and the fellow came up. So annoying. UCSF will be getting a lot of feedback from me. I finally checked out at 4:00 and was home in my own bed last night. My husband brought IN-N-Out(west coast burger place) and it never tasted so good. I couldn’t finish it but yum. The only thing they didn’t warn me of is you leak afterward as they use water to insert during the FMT so I kept having to go just a little which is another reason I couldn’t check out. I should have asked for a diaper but was still out of it so we had to stop on the long traffic drive home to grab a depends at target. This morning stomach feels little crampy and I am tired but so far so good

I'm glad it's all over with and you're home now. That's pretty crappy the doctor never even spoke to you. I would be providing them with negative feedback as well! Sorry about the leakage/diapers. Glad you got a good meal afterwards! That's always the best after scopes. Years ago, one of my GIs told me I kept talking during my scope about where me and my then-boyfriend were going for lunch afterwards! Lol!! I guess we know my priorities (food).

Glad that you are home!! Keep us posted on how you are doing. Have they given you any info about when you should be feeling better? When do you have a follow-up with your doc?

OK, so Wednesday I cleaned my house and it about did me in, Thursday I felt like crap so we stayed home(but my husband cooked me an amazing meal), Friday I was able to go visit relatives but still very low energy, this weekend I was able to do a ton of housework, but after standing was tired out and had to rest. Today I finally had a fully formed BM!!!! I don't think I have had one like this since August. I was starting to freak out as I had NO BMs and was thinking they did something to me, but it must have been that I hadn't eaten Sunday night to Tuesday afternoon and then TWO preps. I dunno. Today I actually went into the office but not going to stay full day. I have zero c-diff symptoms. Only some fatigue and today I think I can officially say I really feel like myself. But I have even better news!!! I called Stanford and not only did I get an appt. with a GI that specializes in IBD on Dec. 17th it is literally 2 miles from my house. WHAT??? OMG the scheduler likely thinks I am an insane person as I was so ecstatic and almost crying. I have never gotten an appt. this quickly and so close to my house?? Why didn't I switch years ago??

As for follow-up, my current GI hasn't even replied to my emails from Monday, has never checked in on me, could care less about me. I am so done and there will be plenty of feedback given to UCSF. I am also wondering what the heck insurance is going to do as I had to stay an extra 24 hours. If there are ANY issues, UCSF is going to be in huge trouble and I am not a litigious person, but there will be a suit for sure. Hope their malpractice insurance is up to date. I literally feel like I lived through an episode of Grey's Anatomy where the fellows make huge mistakes and are clueless. Thanks again everyone for listening to all my ranting. You have no idea how much you have helped me through all of this. If it wasn't for this post I would have been even more frightened and alone. I am of course still petrified it is going to come back and I hope one day I will be able to not be worried. I read a blog from a woman that had c-diff for NINE years. There is always a worse case. We are all strong and can get through it. We appreciate life more than others that don't have issues. Huge hugs to everyone.
