Ok, My husband and I are both 51 years old and he wants to do the Star Wars thing at Disneyland. So, I’m buying a three day pass. Of course there’s an anxiety issue with UC. I’m not worried about bathrooms, presently I only have a BM in the am, I’m more worried about fatigue. I did get a week of extra prednisone at the end of my taper from the doctor. I know I’ll be happy and excited when I get there. It’s just a matter of getting out of my head and relaxing. We are going to go somewhere restful like Palm Springs after. I actually find that just posting my worries here helps me to let go of them. I’d love to hear some Disney stories though smile

Hopefully you are staying close to the park? What we do is go first thing in the morning. Crowds are a little less and so are wait times. Then when it starts getting crowded around noon or 1 go back to the room to rest. You can go back to the park later in the evening if you want. Sometimes I don’t.

Take advantage of the train ride around the whole park — it’s nice and restful and about 20 min. Pirates of the Caribbean I also find soothing — I close my eyes and almost doze off from the rocking motion. Go see a show — mickeys magical lamp is fun and a nice sit down. If you can get reservations the blue bayou has a really nice dining experience. Plan your day so you hit the rides in one area instead of walking across the park multiple times.

Have fun! We’re going in November!

you will have so much fun! Here are a few tips:

1. Disneyland now charges for the ability to reserve FASTPASSes on the app (it's like $15, but it's free at Disney World). It's called MaxPass. If you want to ride a number of the attractions where you can get a FASTPASS and designate your time, it is so worth it. When I went to Disney World, we reserved all of our FASTPASSes on our phones based on when we planned to be in a particular area of the park and what was available for 2 people at overlapping times. You can also log in and change them throughout the day and continue to check on ones that may have been booked. This saves so much line waiting and will help keep your energy up, especially if it is warm. Here's the info: https://disneyland.disney.go.com/guest-services/fastpass/

2. The Disneyland Mobile App is also super awesome bc it has a park map and you can click on non-FASTPASS rides for wait times. ALSOOOOO. It has a super cool store feature where you can scan the barcodes of items you may want to buy, and then about an hour and a half before you plan to leave, you go through the list and select what you REALLY want to buy, and then purchase -- all of your stuff will be waiting at one of the lil shops near the entrance for you to pick up before you leave. I loved this because it meant I had seen everything before I picked my souvenirs, I could find things in all sizes, AND I didn't have to carry it everywhere, which is nice when you want to conserve energy.

3. Bring your own food in so you have stuff that doesn't bother you (and you save money). I also always go with a reusable water bottle since all the places with fountain drinks will refill it for free.

I went to Disneyland with my husband and 2 young kids. I had to stop often for bathroom breaks but the great thing about Disney is that restrooms are abundant and once you’re in there.. there are lots of stalls so few lines (depending on the time of year of course)
I was determined not to let UC prevent me from doing the fun things in life especially with my family.

Thank you all of you for the tips smile I’m taking a thermos and oats with me in this trip, and it feels really nice to be obsessing over something else for a change (buying myself a Disney tiki dress)

Have fun! I bet you'll be too distracted by the park attraction to think much about UC things. And I can not over state how good it is for peace-of-mind to take reasonable precautions (you worry less when you know you are prepared).

There's lots of places to sit down relax if your fatigue starts getting to you. Give you some excuses to sit and enjoy a drink or snack, and people-watch. You'll be there whole days, so no need to feel the need to rush around.

My sister-in-law lived down in Tampa for a number of years, is military and got free passes. So, whenever we visited her, we'd hit-up one of the Disney parks down there. Lots of bathrooms available. Cheers!
