This happened last year but happened again this past week. My bf was the first one to feel iffy. He NEVER gets sick or has any stomach problems so that’s when I know there’s actually a bug or we ate bad food. Anyway, his stomach was off for only a day I think last Thursday or Friday and then he was 100% back to normal. Mine started hurting a whole day after his and then didn’t stop hurting when I’d go to the bathroom until this week. I had no idea if it was just a flare so I immediately started doing my Canasa from twice a week to every day. My only symptoms were stomach pain before a BM and then I eventually had diarrhea but most likely from eating so much junk and drinking sugary alcohol at Disneyland aggravated it. Anyways I was going to make an appointment with my gi but then I remembered this has happened before and I still had his email that he said patients with IBD’s can have symptoms and pain persist for longer from a bug than those without, so I think I’ll hold off on an appointment for now since I’m feeling better.

It just really sucks, never knowing if you’re flaring or if it’s just a bug or when to freak out and when not too. If anyone else has any stories or wants to vent with me post them here.

I had reoccurring campylobacter for 3 months in fall of 2016. That's my only experience with food poisoning my entire life. So yeah, for me, it definitely lasted longer than it does for most people! Took several rounds of antibiotics and two hospital stays to get rid of it...and I got c diff. from all of that. Good times! If you're feeling better, I wouldn't worry about it.
