Just wanted to know if anyone had any luck with whole 30 + AIM (anti-inflammatory modification). I have completely stubborn proctitis. Refractory to everything and am in the process of getting labs ready to start humira. I’m currently on prednisone 40mg. Was on it over 3 weeks without any improvement in symptoms whatsoever. Still going 6-7 x per day, cramping, bleeding, mucous, etc. One of my colleagues’ husband has UC, had suggested this diet and stated that he had great success. I know I’ve spoken with doctors and they say that there is no evidence that diet changes anything with UC, for better or worse but was at the point where it really couldn’t hurt to give it a try.
Within 5 days of these changes I had a tangible improvement in symptoms. Currently almost 2 weeks in and for the first time in 7 months I have had no blood or mucus!!!! I have energy, I have no bloating.
I’m not naive to think that the steroids might have started improving the symptoms but guys, if it helps anyone else, really try. It is hard for the first week or so, but feeling so much better makes it easy to stick to.
Anyone else Had success?
