Hi,
Its been few years I posted here regarding my DD.
All was well and perfectly normal for past 6-7 years till last week!!

Currently she is dealing with greenish/light yellowish watery diarrhea 6-8 times a day.
No cramps nor blood so far. But mucus is there seen on wipes.
Started as headache and upset stomach feeling with smelly and cloudy watery diarrhea and chills.
Taking it as food infection/food bug /stomach virus as her sister just recovered from viral fever..
But its been 6 days today with slight improvement from the beginning but symptoms remains the same for last 2days. Cloudiness and smell is gone though....
Went to urgent care and the doctor suspects stomach virus so asked her to give some more time to let it run out. Collected stools to check for c/diff due to past history.
No blood work done so far.
Eating only salted rice soup /water and home cooked pumpkin soup .
I offered chicken soup but she said her stomach is not craving it...
DD has not established care with a GI nor primary care where she lives.
Luckily she got an appointment with NP at the Digestive disease center tomorrow.
I too will be going with her as she said she cannot recollect much about those sick days other than being on a diet and fecal transplants.
Keeping you all posted as many of you were my strongholds during those dark days of my life...
Any suggestions /thoughts are welcome...

I hope it’s just a flu bug and that she keeps improving and continues with her remission.

I'm sorry to hear your daughter is sick. I think I remember your posts from way back in the day. Hopefully it is just an infection of some sort and not a flare. That's really amazing she has been in remission for so long. Keep us posted. I'm glad she got in for an appointment so quickly and that they tested for c diff.

It does seem early days to suspect a flare. Seeing the NP sounds OK, but just don't let them "assume" it is a flare and start something that might have side effects.

Try to be very sure it is c-diff or an IBD flare before jumping in to a lot of treatment.

Update;
Stool test came back negative .
NP said this seems like stomach virus and suggested to continue liquid supply and bland diet . She said some cases it takes more time to get back to normal.

She prescribed some gentle med to slow down the bowel movement and a steroid ointment to calm down the rectal swelling . I forget the names of both meds

Best to all..
