Six months ago my surgeon and saw that 2 HPV lesions had come back and we were trying to wait until I was off Prednisone to treat them with acid in my rectum but since I haven't really been able to get off of prednisone she decided to treat them today anyway. I was really worried about having acid in my rectum and it wasn't too bad during but now I can feel some very mild cramping and general uncomfortableness. But it's not too bad. She asked me if I had seen blood lately and I haven't seen blood in a long time and she said she saw some blood in my rectum and she said she didn't see much inflammation so maybe my rectum was just fragile. I have no idea what that means. I've been straining to go to the bathroom a lot though with these constipated poops so maybe I tore something. Wouldn't she be able to tell that though? I'm supposed to go back in 6 weeks to see if the lesions went away and if not I have to get the treatment again. There's a chance this can make my colitis flare up too. I just don't know if it's even worth it to be having these warts treated. Because the chance of cancer sounds extremely low. And they hadn't really grown hardly at all since 6 months ago. I had two tiny ones this summer and she said today the two had merged into one but it was still barely anything. I won't know if I start flaring now if it's from this treatment or from getting off of prednisone...

Wow...didn't remember about the HPV. I agree, good to have it treated and a follow-up in six weeks. My question... was the bleeding she saw in rectum or in anus?
Are you using any rectals at this point? Suppositories, if you have them, would be good.

Thanks. I'm so relieved it didn't hurt. I was scared. She said they were "right at the nerve line." She said rectum, but I don't know? The first time, back in 2015, I had to have them treated surgically because I had a lot. They never came back until this summer. I was worried I would get a ton being on immunosupressants, but luckily that didn't happen.

I use Rowasa nightly.

As if colitis isn't already enough to deal with. I'm sorry you're going through this and I'm glad you got treatment today. Maybe the blood was so minimal that you wouldn't have noticed it on the paper because it would have been mixed but the doctor was able to see it. You're still flaring too. Who knows.

Have you stopped imuran for good now?

Good luck with your dexa scan tomorrow.

Hi...as long as the butt is covered, you have a good chance to maintain the status quo. Hopefully the treatment will have done its thing for good.

Keep us updated.

Thank you. I was hoping I wasn't flaring anymore. I haven't gotten off pred yet, but I haven't had UC symptoms for weeks. Usually the anal speculum thing (I dont know what it's called, lol) would hurt a lot if I was inflamed, and it didn't hurt today when she was looking in there. Last time, it hurt so bad I could barely take it. Plus, she said she didn't see inflammation or "much inflammation," so I'm not sure what the blood she saw was all about. Kind of weird.

I can feel where she treated them, but it hasn't been bad at all so far. Just some mild discomfort.

Yeah, I stopped the Imuran for good. I feel so much better off of that. I was so miserable for a month. I don't even want to try a lower dose of it. Maybe I should, I don't know. I emailed my GI tonight and told him I stopped it.

Thank you, quincy. I hope so too!

I started Humira 5 weeks ago, so if it works, I'll be on that. I also take Delzicol and Rowasa.

The tech asked me if I was pre-menopausal before my DEXA scan this morning. I was like "I may have the bones of an old lady, but I'm only 35." Lol. Seemed like a weird question to ask me.

I was okay until today. I just had diarrhea. Earlier today I had a normal BM but with quite a bit of urgency. I was scared I wasn't going to make it to a bathroom for a minute there. I don't know why I think I can tell the difference, but I feel like I might have an infection. I'm not having any blood. I'll call my doctor to get a c diff test if it persists into tomorrow.

I hope this is just because of the procedure or just a one-off, and that the Humira kicks in and you can start to feel better.

Yeah, I don't feel like I'm flaring. I don't know what was up with the diarrhea. Really weird. Thank you.
