My 1st full colonoscopy yesterday and you know what, was actually not bad at all. I was chatting to the doctor , watching the camera and he was telling me everything he was doing whilst he was going around my colon. The worse part? By far the prep work. Starving yourself for over 24 hours and then taking the moviprep solution, which literally turns your *** *** into a temporary water fountain. I mean, I have got UC and have only recently got into remission from a severe C-Diff infection, so I know the meaning of diarrhoea trust me, but I have never known diarrhoea like it. It’s like someone shoved a super soaker up my ass and started pumping 😭 pretty much like pissing out your rectum with it turning yellow eventually, as the system clears and you start pooing out liquids and bile. Anyway, enough of the lovely details for you
My results come back really positive. Very mild inflammation scarring, which would of been the results of my horrendous C-Diff infection I had and very slight inflammation on the left side lower. Apart from that, Colon extremely healthy with no problems whatsoever
I’m a 33 year old male, so obviously I’m still young, but you still worry when you have our condition and go through such trauma with an infection like C-Diff which hospitalised me.
My IBD nurse is very happy and basically said to tackle the small minor inflammation on the left side, continue using the enema’s which I have been. So far all good and I won’t need to go on biologics yet, which originally was the initial plan if my colonoscopy results come back negative. At the moment I’m just taking my usual 150MG of Azathioprine and 2.4G mesalszine twice a day, plus nightly enemas. Currently in remission roughly 3 months since my servere C-Diff infection and excellent colonoscopy results, so all in all very happy and don’t have to do a colonoscopy for another 5/6 years now
