Hi guys , I am currently in a mild UC flare with inflammation in my rectum( as I feel).
My last colonoscopy was done 2 years ago and after that I have done calprotectin test few months ago which showed 105 which means there is less to no inflamation ....currently on mesacol , azathioprine , multivitamin , Vsl3 .
I have seen bright red droplets of blood .
I think it the the haemmorhoids that is causing me urgency , light pink droplets of blood that can be seen droping into the toilet seat. I also suffer from constipation and diarrhea and also strain on seat as I feel incomplete BM. I have never got it tested.
I also made a thread " loads of smelly gas" and I feel like my haemmorhoids is causing that smell in gas and stool.
The main thing is , without any steroid med , I am able to gain weight for the last year ( after losing from 78kg to 58kg in two years ago due to UC) , I have gained 1 kg a month approx , nearly 11 kgs at 69 currently( in my country weight is measured in KG, 1KG=2.2 pound).
I also dont have any pain in my stomach anymore that used to be an year ago.
I think its haemmi that is making me believe that these are UC symptoms , please tell me what you think , also tell me some test for it , an what remedy/diet should I do to try control haemmi at home and feel if it betters.

Hemorrhoids don't cause smelly gas.

Are you on rectal meds?

An irritated hemi can cause some minor bowel discomfort which might result in an extra stool per day, maybe slightly more urgency. It isn't going to give you major flare-like symptoms though. There's nerves and sensitivity within a hemi, and pressure against it might occasionally upset your bowels a small amount. It's easy enough to tryout, get some over-the-counter hemorrhoid treatments, try them for a couple weeks and see if your symptoms improve.
