Wondering if anyone here has tried more than one enema nightly. I have been doing nightly for 2 months and still having symptoms.

I was thinking of trying one during day and one nightly.

I have done that when I am really bad. Have you tried hydrocortisone enemas? They worked wonders for me. You might use one type in the morning and the other at night and get some good results.

Are you on any oral meds? It's usually best to have the combination of both rectal and oral meds

Hope you get some relief soon

Thank you, yes I take salafalk tabs daily as well. Is the enema you suggest prednisone, I am scared to death to try as I have had such terrible symptoms from prednisone and I will never take again.

Yeah my doctor prescribed two enemas daily, when I was flaring. He said take them both at once, or at different times, it really made no difference when.

Yes, they are a steroid but less is systemically absorbed than prednisone, so you'd probably not have the side effects you had on pred.

What exactly are your symptoms and how have they improved since starting them?

No point in two at once....better one in morning and one at night.

Bloody mucous, 4 to 5 bathroom stops, urgency, no cramps, pain when going bathroom. The bleeding has just stopped for the first time today, 3 to 4 times in bathroom, not as much pain as yesterday so fingers crossed. I think I will try one in am after bowel movement then again at night before bed. Thank you everyone for your replies 😘

Good plan. That has worked for me very well to beat back flares before they get a foot hold.

Keep in mind now as to the length of time it's taken with the enemas till now and your symptoms....seems as though you're on track.

Let us know how you're doing with the added daytime enema.
